I Absolutely Loved It!
I wanted to hate Vicious, but I couldn’t help but fall in love with him!
This book is a perfect bad boy, good girl love story. Emilia (aka “Help”) meets Vicious when she’s 17 and her family comes to work for his. She’s instantly drawn to him, but can’t figure out why he hates her so much. She wants to hate him as well, but there’s something about him that makes that hate into something more. For the first part of this book we get to see their past and get to know more about these two characters and what they went through and why Emilia hates him so much now.
Flash forward ten years and Emilia and Vicious are thrown together again and Vicious is even worse than he was in high school, except now he needs Emilia for something and she needs him as well. He’s offering something she can’t refuse, and she accepts. The tension between these two is so hot you can feel your kindle burning up, and you know when they finally give in, things are going to be H-O-T, and then it’s going to come tumbling down. It definitely gets hot between these two, and for a while I was like yes!!! but I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, I felt like screaming, I wanted Vicious and Emilia to work out, but I knew things wouldn’t be so easy for them, that there was going to be a lot more work for these two to get an HEA if they were going to get one.
Vicious is a grade A asshole, there’s no getting around that, but as we get to know more of his story, we can see why he is the way he is. He has a lot to make up for with Emilia, and it takes him a while to figure that out and then for him to act on it. You’ll want to hate him, and then you’ll want to hug him. I had so many mixed emotions with his character throughout this book it wasn’t funny. In the end though, I adored him and to see the guy underneath the jerk was amazing.
Emilia on the other hand, I think we all should be like her. She’s awesome. She loves hard, the way she takes care of her parents, her sister, and everyone else around her. She stands up to Vicious when no one else will and she sticks up for herself. When she knows she shouldn’t be treated a certain way, she doesn’t stand for it and puts her foot down. She’s not someone who lets people treat her like crap and I respected the crap out of her character for it. I loved her character and everything about her. She didn’t take Vicious back immediately and made him prove himself to her and even then she was weary about it, to me that was awesome, instead of going head first into everything, she wanted to make sure she was doing the right thing for her heart and that was admirable.
This book is a definitely whirlwind of emotions. You’ll want these characters together, you’ll want them far, far away from each other, you’ll love them, you’ll hate them, you’ll definitely hate some of the secondary characters and you’ll scream for justice for people who have done them wrong. This was an amazing read that I was unable to put down. I hope we get to books for the other HotHoles as well because I really want to read Dean’s story one day! Definitely pick up Vicious if you’re wanting a story with a hot lead that you love to hate!
