I Liked It!
Loving Noel is a great debut novel from Xana Jordan!
Xana is guarded when it comes to relationships, after being hurt in junior high, so she keeps her heart guarded and is happy to just have her close friends around her. All of this changes when Noel enters her life. Noel is too good to be true, but Xana doesn’t believe it could ever be more than friends with him, so she’s happy to have him as a friend. With the push of her best friend Stacy and his best friend Cade, these two finally make the moves on one another, and a whirlwind romance ensues.
I loved how this book wasn’t an “insta-love” high school romance, but a slow burning one instead. We got to see these two really get to know one another and become friends first and then figure out the relationship of being boyfriend and girlfriend. Watching their relationship progress throughout the high-school years as well was also amazing. I really enjoyed watching how they dealt with all the drama that came their way and how strong it really made their love for one another. Even if I really wanted to punch Mercedes and all of her shenanigans because that girl is just AWFUL!
These two have a bond that I really thought was unbreakable, but it is high school and things sometimes are not what they seem. There is drama and a lot of angst, and there is some a little too mushy for me moments, but overall this is an amazing read. It does end in a way that you will be immediately one-clicking the next book in the series to see what happens with these characters.. so just be forewarned! I really enjoyed this book and how the story flowed and the characters were amazing (except for Mercedes, wasn’t sure if I mentioned how much I hated her yet). I will be immediately jumping into Claiming Xana now to see what happens next in this crazy love story!
