I Kind of Loved It!
I have been waiting for Jack and Jenny’s story FOREVER!! I read Finding Home and I loved it, and fell in love with Jack and Jenny in that book and have been dying for their book, so when Coming Home released, I immediately dived into this book and devoured it!
Jack and Jenny’s story is a friends to enemies to lovers story that is beautifully written, angsty and full of steam. Jenny has been in love with Jack ever since she can remember, but five years ago he broke her heart and she ran, now she’s home and she wants to move forward and forget all about him, problem is, he won’t let her forget. From her first night back in town the chemistry between these two is sizzling, the spark is there, and there is no denying these two have unfinished business and will definitely end up together.
I loved how Jack knew what he wanted, but when presented with finally getting what he wanted, he was scared he was going to screw it all up. It showed how much he truly cared about Jenny and wanted to do what was right by her. Sure, he did may have handled some of the situations the wrong way, but he truly does care about Jenny and wants to make her see how much he’s changed and how she truly is the only one for him. Jenny on the other hand doesn’t know what to do with the Jack that is now in front of her. She was prepared to let him go and move on with her life, but now that she sees this Jack who wants her, things are changed and every plan she had to move on is thrown out the window.
Not only is their friendship back, but the sex between them is HOT. Jack and Jenny have chemistry both inside and outside the bedroom, and I think we all need a Jack in our lives. He takes care of her, and is always making sure she is happy. When things go awry, he is torn up and I hated seeing these two apart, but it truly was what was best for these two to actually make things work in the long run. Everything moved so fast between them, and for some readers it may come off as “insta-love” as when Jenny comes back it’s like BOOM they are together, but.. you need to remember these two have been in each others lives since they were kids, and are finally getting their chance.
Aine Kelley has a way with words and Coming Home is beautifully written. This story flows in a way that plays out like a movie, and I found myself laughing out loud, wanting to cry, and biting my nails hoping these two would overcome everything that they were faced with. Jack and Jenny are a couple that you can’t help but root for and hope that their love will stand the test of time and everything that is thrown at them in this book. If you’re looking for a romance that will have you hooked from beginning to end, with amazing secondary characters, I highly suggest picking up Coming Home by Aine Kelley today!
