I Liked It!
If you’re looking for a short, quick, historical romance, than A Talent for Temptation by Sabrina Jeffries, is definitely a novella to one-click! This was the first book by Sabrina that I’ve read as I’m not a huge reader of the genre, but there was something about the blurb that caught my attention and I figured I’d give it a shot, and I’m glad I did!
When Meriel is almost abducted on her way to a ball, she doesn’t know what to do when Quinn is the one who saves her. She has feelings for Quinn but doesn’t think she’s good enough for him, but now she’s stuck saving him after an unfortunate situation, and both of them have some truths that need to come out. In this short and sweet novella, we get to see both of them confront their feelings for one another, as well as their past, and what’s keeping them apart. I loved the back and forth between Meriel and Quinn and how bad they both wanted to be together and all of the crazy reasons Meriel came up with as to why they couldn’t.
Watching these two dance around each other, and then finally giving in, to have it almost pulled away again was an amazing story, and I fell hard and fast for these characters, and it made me want to go back and read the other books in this series. I know that this was a stand-alone novella, but I really want to get to know more about the characters in this series. There was something about how Sabrina Jeffries wrote this book that truly took me back in time, and I felt like I was sitting there with these characters experiencing their story with them. This is a definite one-click for anyone looking for a quick read with some angst and a HEA!
I have received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review.
