What a unique twist on Melissa and Derek’s story! At first I must admit, I was a little weary about this book, but like always, Tia Louise blew me away with how amazing this book was!
Melissa is a hybrid, she’s been bitten, and either needs to kill and become a full fledged vampire, or die. She’s in New Orleans with her best friend Elaine to try to find another way around her situation. She never expected to run into hot and sexy Derek, and to be drawn to him. Derek is in New Orleans as well, but he’s hunting an Old One, who he believes may be responsible for his wife’s death six years ago. Derek is a top Vampire Hunter, and he never expected to meet sweet and sexy Melissa.
At first these two have no clue what the other person is, but the connection between them is undeniable. The feelings they have come quick and are definitely strong. When they find out the truths about one another, Derek will do anything to help Melissa, while Melissa refuses to let him put himself in harms way to save her. When Elaine, Patrick, Stuart, and Mariska all enter into the story, things definitely get interesting.
As a huge fan of the One to Hold Series, I loved seeing the paranormal twist on my favorite characters. Each one of them have something unique about them, and how they all interact is amazing. Patrick and Elaine are as sweet together as always, and the connection between Derek and Melissa is powerful. I really enjoyed seeing Derek and Melissa fight through everything that was facing them, so they could have a HEA. This book definitely has a bunch of twists and turns, and I definitely fell in love with these characters all over again. You do not need to read any of the books prior to reading this, so it’s perfect for the Paranormal Romance lovers out there who haven’t read Tia’s One To Hold Series.
