I Loved It!
This book… WOW, it is my favorite of the series so far!
Jacob meets Pria at the bookstore where him and M.J. are getting their books so they can do their year of college and graduate. He’s drawn to Pria but makes some horrible pick up lines and thinks he’ll never see her again. M.J. is there to help laugh at him with all the things he does, but it doesn’t make J.C. feel any better. Finally J.C. is able to get Pria to agree to spending some time with him and those days they were together were absolutely amazing, but soon a ton of unfortunate events keep these two apart and break them.
The time between when J.C. and Pria first met to where they are seeing each other again is ten years… and so much has happened in those ten years. Pria has become the person she swore she never wanted to be (her mother), and J.C. is jaded, and hateful and doesn’t really care about much anymore. He’s no longer that happy go lucky guy Pria met in college and thought she loved.
Seeing these two together and then separated and seeing everything both of them went through in the past years was beautiful and had me rooting for both of them. When they are reunited, things don’t go as well as you would hope, but there is a little sliver of hope that they can make it work. Both of these characters have to learn to let go of the past, and learn to move forward and continue to live. I think this was something that Pria understood, but not so much J.C.. Everyone tries to get J.C. to see what he’s doing to himself and to others, but it takes Pria pushing and prodding to finally get him to understand his life is so much more than what he’s been doing with it lately.
I loved Jacob, hated him, tolerated him, hated him, and loved him again. I think I felt the same about his character that Pria felt for him as well. My heart broke for him, and for Pria and everything that they have been through during this book.
The chemistry between J.C. and Pria isn’t that off the charts hot, but they have something stronger, friendship and a solid bond. When they were young and in college they shared everything with each other, and when they reunite, neither one of them wants to admit it, but that bond is still there, and they are so comfortable around each other. It’s like they truly are soulmates.
I enjoyed getting to see more Gabe, Chris, A.J., Mason, and M.J. in this book and catching up on how things are going with them. To say that I love the Colhurst-Decker family is an understatement. The way this family took in Pria and her sister was beautiful. They truly became a part of the family and even though sometimes that family does some stupid things, their hearts are in the right place.
Uncharted is my favorite book in this series so far, there is just so much in this book that I couldn’t help but relate and fall in love with these characters. The way Claudia Burgoa wrote this story is beautiful and I was unable to put it down once I picked it up. J.C. and Pria’s story is beautiful, tragic, and full of unfortunate events.
