I Absolutely Loved It!
Finally the conclusion to the series that has caught me off guard and kept me glued to my Kindle for the past 24 hours. We finally get to see how Ella and Reed’s story ends and what an ending it is!
After the ending of Broken Prince I was in complete shock and needed to know what happened ASAP. This book took us on even more twists and turns than the previous books and my head was spinning with everything we learned. My heart broke for everything that Reed and Ella had to go through. With the return of Steve I was happy at first that Ella would have her father in her life, but I quickly began to distrust him and his motives, he fell into the Dinah and Brooke category for me and he never really got out of it.
I hated how Ella finally found a place she could call home and was ripped from it. She had Callum, the twins, Easton and Reed, and Steve came and took it all away. He wanted to control her, and sure, that’s what parents do, but I hated how he went about doing it. He didn’t take the time to get to know her or who she was before he made decisions for her that could change her life forever. He didn’t care that his godson was being convicted of murder, or that it was tearing his daughter apart, he was selfish and I despised his character for it. But enough about him. The way Ella handled everything going on with Reed? It made me love her character even more. She has grown so much in this series and is so strong that I admire this character so much. She goes to bat for those she loves and the way she stood by the Royals and Reed is something that was admirable and showed how much she truly cared for each and every one of them. Something I never would have thought would have happened when they first met with so much animosity between them all.
This book had even more secrets and lies and I loved each and every second of it. We got all the sexiness and angst we’ve grown accustomed to with Reed and Ella, the banter and fun with Easton and Ella, the high school drama, the dark and twisty secrets, and everything in between. This series seriously has me hooked and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Reed and Ella. I can only hope we get to see more of the family one day because the twins, Gideon, Easton, etc all in my opinion have stories to tell. This series quickly has jumped to one of my favorite series of all time and I can not recommend it enough. If you’re looking to be sucked into a world of secrets and lies and angst, I highly recommend The Royals by Erin Watt!
