I Absolutely Loved It!
Avery and Gabriel’s story comes to an epic conclusion in The Castle.
The Castle was the perfect ending to this amazing trilogy. Picking up right where The Knight ended, Avery is now locked away in Gabriel’s mansion to keep her safe from Jonathan Scott. So many things happen to these two during this book that my head was spinning. I was so used to it always being Gabriel hiding things from Avery, that I was shocked when it was Avery who started hiding things from Gabriel and Gabriel becoming more open with her. It was like these two switched roles in this book. The back and forth between them was amazing, and the cat and mouse game definitely continued.
I hated seeing Avery tormented in this book, and everything that came out broke my heart even more for this girl. She has suffered so much and gone through so much and she hasn’t deserved any of it. It’s funny that the man who she should hate most in the world, is the one who would risk his life to keep her safe and who she puts all of her trust in. These two truly do have a connection no one could break, even if they are the ones trying to break it over and over again. Avery seems to be set in repeating history though with being trapped in her own castle just like her mother, but unlike her mother, she decided to be trapped, since outside of the castle she’s in she’s in even more danger.
Watching how protective Gabriel becomes of Avery in this book was admirable. He puts on such a show throughout this entire series of not caring, but you really get to see how much he does care and exactly what he would do to keep her safe. You see his walls starting to come down and how vulnerable she makes him. I loved seeing a bit softer side of Gabriel in this book, even if it was just little glimpses. She makes him human, and made me not hate him and actually want to love him, especially after everything he does for her.
The Castle, like the previous two stories, has many secrets and twists and turns that will make your head spin, the revelations that come out in this book will have you going WTH?! but trust me, if you have read the previous two books, you MUST read the conclusion to this series, you will not regret it. Everything that leads up to this book is nothing compared to what happens in The Castle, and if you haven’t read The Endgame Series yet, you need to pick it up ASAP, this may be one of my favorite series I’ve read in a long time!! I’m going to be suffering from a major book hangover after finishing this book.
