I picked this book up and was unable to put it down. I’ve seen this book all over my newsfeed and needed to know what this series was all about.
We meet Lexi who’s engaged to Collin. Immediately I had the feeling that these two wouldn’t work out. Lexi is trying to fit into a role she really wants no part of, and Collin has no way of showing any type of affection or love towards Lexi. I really disliked Collins character from the get-go, and even though I despised him, I was really hoping he would prove me wrong and would change.
When we met Raven I was a little stand offish on his character with the reputation that he had, but once I got to know him, I really liked him and was rooting for him to win Lexi’s heart.
This isn’t your typical love triangle where both of the guys are madly in love with the girl, and she’s playing them. This is about a relationship of convenience and figuring out what you really want in life. I really felt for Lexi during this book, and was glad to see her stand firm on her decision when she made it, but also my heart broke for her. She really wanted a sign to show her she should be with Collin, and well… he’s just an emotionless prick.
I loved the side characters in this book, especially Delaney and her antics. She had me cracking up, and also a little mad at her as well. She’s the one that really brings Lexi out of her shell.
This story is light and a quick read and I definitely cannot wait for the next book, I’ll be one-clicking it tonight! I really love Lexi and can’t wait to see what her story brings next now that some decisions have been made. I hope we got some more chemistry between the characters and more of a love story, as this book seemed to be more of setting up the next book in the series. I am definitely hooked and can’t wait for more!
After reading Intoxicate, I had to read Incinerate and get Knox’s story! As much as I loved Jace, Knox owns my heart. I love him and his story so freaking much!
We met Knox in Intoxicate, but really didn’t get to know him, and now we finally do. After dealing with the explosion and everything that happened, Knox is back and on his road to recovery. What he doesn’t realize is that the volunteer Charlie that is going to be helping him while Cohen is back at school is someone he won’t be able to deny.
When Charlie (aka Charlotte) goes to the bar with her friends the night before her new volunteer assignment starts, she’s intrigued by this sexy and rugged looking man. After dealing with a cheating fiance, she hasn’t been interested in men, but something about this man makes her interested. When she introduces herself, and he’s blows her off, she doesn’t understand and goes back to hanging out.
The next day, both Charlie and Knox are surprised to find out that they will be spending a lot of time together. Knox is Charlies new volunteer assignment, and Knox doesn’t know what to do about it.
To say that these two get along like oil and water is an understatement. They are both strong and bullheaded and love to push the others buttons. Watching these two butt heads is hilarious and the sexual chemistry between the two is hard to deny. Charlie doesn’t want a one night stand, and is only interested in a relationship, and knowing how Knox is, she decides only being friends with him is for the best. Knox is drawn to Charlie, but doesn’t want to make any moves on her, and so therefore they are stuck in the “Friend Zone”.
The two of them definitely become great friends, and you can see the struggle between both of them to keep it as strictly friends, but when Knox decides enough is enough, is when things really got hot between these two. I loved watching these two get to know one another and working through their pasts, but I absolutely loved watching them as a couple. Their strong will and personalities make for an interesting time, and I loved every single second of it.
Watching Knox start to open up about his past, and trying to move forward was amazing to watch. My heart hurt for him and the things he has been put through from his brother and family, and I loved watching him make peace with some of these things.
Charlie’s character is beautifully written. I loved her sass and her personality. She didn’t let anyone mess with her and she was a strong and independent character. I fell in love with her dad and the relationship the two of them have with one another.
I also loved getting to see what was going on with Jace and Alexa and seeing things we didn’t see from them in Intoxicate. Everyone of these characters are amazing and I can’t wait for more from Kale and Lucy!
Incinerate is beautifully written and a story that isn’t just about lust and romance. The characters have depth, and the story just pulls you in. Incinerate can be read as a stand alone, but I highly suggest reading Intoxicate first to get to know Jace and Alexa and the Knox before Charlie walked into his life. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series and hopefully get to see more of Knox and Charlie in those books!
I Liked It!
Where do I start with this one? This is an amazing read that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! This book is so much more than I expected and am eager to read the other books in the Corps Security Series!
The prologue of this book is a little rough to read, as it deals with some horrible issues, but trust me, you need to read it, to understand the pain that Izzy has gone through.
Izzy gave her heart away at the tender of age of 17 and had it broken. She ends up in a destructive and abusive marriage, and is finally free, but not really living. She has a lot of issues with the things she went through with her marriage, and having her heart completely shattered when she was so young. You get a little bit of a glimpse of Izzy trying to be happy, when BAM Axel shows back up in her life.
These two have a lot of things to work through, and a lot of pain that has grown in the past 12 years, but through the whole book you are hoping that these two can make things right and be happy together once again. I loved Axel, and his dominant alpha male attitude. Even though you wanted to slap him for how he treated Izzy when they first talked, I understand where he was coming from, his perception of what happened between the two of them, and Izzy’s is completely different. I loved seeing these two give and take, and seeing Izzy push him away, afraid to be broken all over again, and scared to let him in. When things finally seem to be resolved between the two of them, things quickly heat up, and your Kindle (or whichever device you use) will be steaming up from all the hotness!
This story may be about Izzy and Axel, but it is about so much more than them. You will fall in love with each of the “family” of friends they have, and if just the little taste we got of the other Corps Security men is any inclination of what is to come in the next books, I can NOT wait to see what these other men have in store for us. You will love Dee (Izzy’s best friend) and Greg. I know that Izzy wouldn’t be where she is now if it wasn’t for them and their undying loyalty and love for her.
The epilogue of this book was amazing and the story ended beautifully, but what made it even better was the deleted scenes at the end. Seeing how everything played out with these characters will definitely give you the HEA you will crave and have you falling in love with these characters even more.
This book is about pain, loss, friendship, and finding that one love that can never be destroyed. I fell in love with the writing style of Harper Sloan, and the characters she brought to the reader in this book. I can not wait to dive into the other books, especially knowing that Axel and Izzy finally got everything they deserved.

Brooke did again..WOW!!
I’ve been patiently waiting for this book after I read Conklin’s Foundation. All I can say it this blew me away.
We pick up right where book 2 ended. Tyler and Becca (mainly Becca) are planning for their upcoming wedding. Tyler finds out that his father had shady dealings and that put them in danger. What happens to his father shocked me and I didn’t see that coming. After that we Tyler pull away from Becca and my heart was breaking for the both of them. He felt he would only cause her pain and she is begging for his attention which brings out her insecurities again. I wanted to slap him a few times for the way he was acting. I get people react differently to certain things, but he was wrong. Finally seeing him realize what an ass he was made me happy and it was great seeing them reconnect..
This book will keep you drawn in wanting more and things happen that you would never suspect..Becca’s father?!!!!! that blew my mind..brilliant! you would never see that one. 🙂 Loved Nathan as always and Mitch redeemed himself in my eyes. Now him and Jamie?..that’s a story I am looking forward to 🙂
Last but not least..Tyler and his relationship with his mom..<3 So much miscommunication and the truth was finally revealed. That touched my heart and Tyler was finally starting to heal. It was a slow process but I am glad it happened. As always, Becca was there for him. She keeps him calm and they are just the perfect fit.
If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to see what Brooke has in store for us next! 🙂

Colorado native M.L. Steinbrunn is new to the professional literary community, but has been in love with the world of fictional characters and plot twists since she was a child. Writing short stories and reading anything she could get her hands on, it could be argued that her hobby borders on an obsession.

After countless evenings of discussing story ideas, it was her husband who encouraged her to follow her own path and publish her first novel.

She would like to add a big thank you to everyone that has been overwhelmingly supportive of this incredibly scary yet exciting journey.
I Loved It
Holy crap this book is simply amazing!!! I loved the characters and the writing and this entire story!
Trace has a not so welcome party when she starts at Eagle Elite and the only saving grace is her roommate, who happens to be satans (Nixons) sister.
The Elect are total asses to Trace as she starts school but there is something about their fearless leader that draws Trace in. I loved and hated seeing the things this poor girl went through. And as a reader I started to figure out what was going on way before she did, and man she took the news a lot better than I would have when she found out about her past.
Nixon, where to start? I love him and hate him all at the same time but can’t imagine Trace with anyone else but him! Chase is hilarious and I know that Trace and him also feel something for each other but Nixon has to be it for her.
Being thrown into the life she was thrown into didn’t change her, she is still a good person and I loved seeing her not change and possibly become stronger after finding everything out.
This isn’t a typical read for me, and I’m glad I jumped out of the CEO, Fighter, Alpha genre and into this twisted Mafia that is the Elect! Trace I have a feeling will be doing a lot more growing, and Nixon, well he’s definitely a new top book boyfriend. There is something about this book that makes it one of those that you cannot put down until the last sentence is read. It is simply just that good!
This book is an amazing page turner that will not let you put it down till the last sentence is read. I immediately went and one clicked book 2 so I can see what happens next. This story is so original and awesome, I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner! This is definitely a 5+ read for me and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
