I Liked It!
True North is an amazing story and isn’t just about a small town girl meeting a bad boy rock star. This book is so much more than what you would think by reading the synopsis of this book.
We meet Kate who is a widower and a best selling author from a small town in Montana. A chance meeting with “Trax” (Trevor) on a late night shows turns her world up side down.
I loved how honest Kate was and how she really had no clue who the “famous” guy in the green room was, but you could tell she was attracted to him. We don’t get to see much into Trevor’s head, but the way he goes about pursuing Kate is sweet. You can tell he’s into her, but at first I wasn’t sure if it was all about sex or something different.
Seeing Trevor and Kate navigate through this relationship was sweet and hot as hell! I loved how once they gave into their feelings how amazing things were with them. The both helped each other heal from their tragic pasts, and seeing Trevor with Kate was beautiful. The way he opens up to her shows he’s really not that ‘bad boy’ everything knows him as.
I wish we would have gotten some of Trevor’s POV in this book, but I loved seeing Kate’s point of view on how everything played out. Her worries about how things were going with them, learning to move on from her past and love again, and how she really doesn’t take crap from anyone. I loved seeing her watch “Trax” perform for the first time, and the night after the concert.
These two are a match made in heaven and I loved watching their story play out. Both of these characters are likeable and I was rooting for them throughout this entire book. The ending was AMAZING, but I really wish we would have had a little more. I’m hoping we get more of Kate and Trevor in Simon’s book because I’m just not ready to say goodbye to these two just yet.
True North is a sweet, sexy and beautiful contemporary romance that definitely needs to be added to your TBR list today. Kate and Trevor are amazing, and their story is beautiful. It really makes you sit back and think about what is important in life. If Kate and Trevor can get through everything they have, who says all of us can’t learn to live and enjoy life after a tragedy?
I have received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review.
