I Liked It!
This book had me laughing out loud, falling in love, and unable to fall asleep till I reached the end!
Being Brooke was the perfect light read to pick up and get lost in! Brooke is the most awkward, 24 year old out there, yet she reminds me so much of myself. She can’t cook, she has her two best friends, Cain and Carly, she doesn’t like many people, she speaks her mind, and she just doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life. Her mouth gets her in trouble more times than she can count, and even though it’s awful for her sometimes, it’s hilarious for you as the reader. She’s hard to not love as you get to know her, but your heart breaks for the turmoil she feels. She’s in love with her best friend Cain, and he has no clue. He’s with Nina, the “perfect” girl that both Brooke and Carly despise and watching their reactions to her are HILARIOUS.
This book is told solely in Brooke’s point of view, and I loved it. Normally I would say, ” I would love to have seen Cain’s point of view” but I loved the surprise of it all. Seeing Brooke struggle with her feelings, seeing her anger, her love, and her insecurity really made me fall in love with her and root for her to get what she wanted.
When things go south with Nina and Cain, and Cain makes a move on Brooke, she doesn’t know how to handle it. She can’t “adult” on most days, and when she gets what she’s always wanted, she has a minor freak out, and it’s hilarious. Watching her try to come to grips with the possibility of having what she’s always wanted is a struggle, but definitely worth it. These two are a match made in heaven and everyone that knows them knows it.
The banter in this book between Brooke and well, anyone will have you laughing out loud, even her inner monologue will have you giggling. She is a character that will stay with you for a while. She’s full of life and reminds us all of how it was when we were all young and on our own trying to figure out how to “adult”. The “life tips” on each chapter header? OMG perfection! That is the only way to describe them!
I adored this book, and the ending and epilogue were amazing. I wished we could have seen more of Brooke and Cain together instead of the whole will they or won’t they, but the way it ended was great. This book is perfect for anyone looking for a laugh out loud romantic comedy that will not leave you hanging at the end!
