I Liked It!
Greg’s story?! Why YES PLEASE! When reading Axel I knew I wanted to know Greg’s story and immediately dived into this one as soon as I was finished reading Axel, and this book did NOT disappoint!
Greg aka Cage is the protective one out of the Corps Security guys, and has taken on the big brother role to Izzy, Dee, and Emmy. What he doesn’t expect when taking Nate to the doctors is Melissa. It takes him days to get her name, and for her to open up to him, but all it took for him was one look and he was hooked!
I loved how Melissa didn’t immediately give in to Greg and what he wanted, and she put up a fight. Granted, she had reason for doing so, but I loved how she kept him on his toes. Unknowingly at first, these two share a very specific bond, and as much as I wanted to strangle Greg for not telling Melissa immediately when he figured it out, I loved how it played out. These two were meant for each other just as much as Izzy and Axel are meant to be together.
Their story is definitely different than Izzy and Axel’s and I loved this about this book. This was new love, and surviving old pain, as well as accepting everything that comes from the person you are with, and not just choosing the things that you want to accept. Their story is hard, but in the end, worth everything that they went through. There will be times in this story that your heart will break open for the characters, and you will feel the pain they are going through as well.
I am becoming addicted to this series, and can’t wait to read the next one and see what is going on with the Corps Security guys now. I love how this book took place about a year after Nate’s birth, and how we got to see all of the characters we began to love in the first book. I love each and every one of these characters and can’t wait to see more about them. Greg and Melissa’s story is heartbreakingly beautiful and I can’t wait to see what is going on with them as side characters in the next books!
