I Absolutely Loved It!
Where to start?! This was the perfect ending to one of my favorite series ever! The drama, the angst, the tears, the love, this book had everything!
Sam and Mason have overcome so much in their lives together, and now Sam is working on finding herself still. When we left them we were still waiting for her to answer Mason’s question and now we know how she answers and where this leads the two of them. We also see Sam starting to do things for herself and her and Taylor’s friendship start to grow thicker than it has in previous books. Watching Sam struggle with who she is is hard in this book. She’s always been so strong and fierce but until this book you really didn’t see how much she really didn’t know how much she was struggling and how much she needed some time on her own to figure out who “Sam Stratton” was without the Kade brothers always protecting her. We always knew Mason was going to be successful, but it was awesome seeing Sam be successful as well, I’m glad we got that in this book, I never realized I wanted it until this book!
Mason also has things he needs to deal with in this book, and seeing how much he has grown from when we met him in Fallen Crest High is like night and day. I loved how him and Logan referred to them maturing as an STD, but they really have. Sure they still have their fierceness about them and protectiveness but when Mason makes a decision now he thinks it through and how it is going to affect him, Sam, his family and his future, instead of acting first and then dealing with the consequences later. He made some tough choices in this book as well, and at times my heart truly broke for him.
These two are perfect for one another, and when things are good I was so on cloud nine with them, but there are times in this book where my heart broke and I was in tears right along with them. I felt as if Tijan ripped my heart out at times and stomped on it, but then put it back in place with a pretty little bow. I wanted to scream and cry right along with these characters. The pain these characters went through in this book and the turmoil of the situations they were dealing with felt real. I don’t know if it was because I’ve become so invested in these characters over the years, or what, but I laughed and I cried and I was angry right along with them.
This was a perfect ending to the series, everything was wrapped up in a perfect little bow and as much as it hurts, I am happy with how Sam, Mason and Logan’s stories ended. Do I want to see more of them? YES OF COURSE I DO! But.. if this truly is the end of the road for them, then Tijan did a beautiful job of writing the perfect book to wrap up the series. If you have loved this series like I have, you can’t let this book sit on your Kindle, if you haven’t read the series yet, you must go and start it now, especially since it’s complete! This is one of my all time favorite series ever and one that will definitely be re-read over and over again.
