I Liked It!
Looking for a sweet, unexpected love story? Roommate Romance is just that! This book took my by surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, and once I picked it up, I was unable to put it down!
We meet Allie, who, let’s be honest, is a little crazy, she has a list for EVERYTHING, everything in her life is planned, she makes every decision with a list and doesn’t like when things go unplanned. She’s moving back to New York to find hopefully start a job as a stage-manager on Broadway, nothing could go wrong, right? Well she didn’t expect to have an unexpected roommate in Shane. Shane is just now getting back to his life after taking a few years off to take care of his sister after his parents passed away and when he shows up to the apartment he was supposed to be living in alone and finds Allie there too he was shocked, but makes the most of it.
The two of them are complete and utter opposites. They are both definitely attracted to one another, one is more than willing to act on the feelings, but the other is too driven to even think about it. They dance around each other for far too long until it becomes unbearable and sparks fly. Watching these two dance around each other and “keep things casual” is hilarious and sexy all at the same time. Watching Allie think she has everything under control in her career and in her life is also hilarious. Her new job isn’t what she thought she was going to get when she moved back to the big city, her family is on her case, but she doesn’t really realize how good she really has it, till it all almost comes crashing down around her.
Allie does a lot of growing in this book and many times I wanted to strangle her for being so crazy and not seeing how good she really had it, but in the end, she realized no matter how much she planned her life, things don’t always go as planned and sometimes you just need to go with the flow and let life take you the way it wants to take you and go with it. She made some mistakes, she didn’t enjoy things she should have, but in the end, she did what was right.
The secondary characters in this book I adored. Joanna, Reagan, Meghan and Brian (Allie’s brother). They are all amazing and I am hoping and crossing my fingers that one day soon Maggie Riley will give us stories with them as the main characters because I really want to see more of them. If you’re looking for a witty, sexy, and funny romance, this book is definitely for you. The ending is amazing and the whole story is beautifully written. Like I said before, Roommate Romance had be from beginning to end. I highly recommend adding this one to your TBR list today!
