I Liked It!
Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland was an amazing, beautiful and heartwarming read. It definitely was not what I expected, yet everything I have come to love by Vi Keeland!
From the moment Nat and Hunter met, I knew things were going to be fun and interesting between them. The chemistry between them was off the charts, but Nat kept pushing him away, and I loved how cocky Hunter was that he would wear her down at their friends wedding. When she gave him a wrong number, I wanted to slap her, I wanted them to get down and dirty and see where things could go between them. Once Nat was home in NYC we got to see why she was so hesitant to give sexy, cocky, playboy Hunter a chance and why she was so unwilling to give any real relationship a go. When Hunter shows back up in her life though, it’s harder to resist him, and when he proposes, “sex, not love”, she can’t help but refuse him, as the chemistry between them is too much to deny.
Watching these two act like a real couple and falling for one another without even realizing it in the two months that followed was amazing. I loved how protective Hunter was, and how much Nat really opened up with him, and just seeing how happy both of these characters were. But the, when their time was up, everything went to crap. Hunter had a secret, and one I didn’t see coming, and I hated seeing it break the two of them apart.
Both of these characters have gone through so much, and we see a lot more in this book about Nat than we did about Hunter, but when we find out about Hunter, my heart broke for him. Watching them deal with everything and how they go through it all was beautiful and also heartbreaking. I was rooting for these two throughout the entire book, but at times I wasn’t sure they really would make it. Both of them are extremely stubborn, scared, and strong willed, which at times wasn’t good for their relationship.
I did really enjoy how this story played out, the angst, the laughs, and all of the sexiness. This was a beautifully written story and it definitely went in a different direction than I was anticipating, which I loved. Hunter and Nat were amazing characters and their story was awesome. I really did enjoy how everything played out for them, even if we had to go through some turmoil to get there. I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for an angsty romance that will have you laughing out loud and one that’s full of steam!
