I Absolutely Loved It!
This is my first read of Holly Renee’s and it definitely will not be my last. Where Good Girls Go To Die was a story that had my stuck to one spot on my bed with my nose glued to my Kindle wanting to know how Parker and Liv’s story was going to end.
Four years ago Liv and Parker had a falling out and they haven’t spoken, now they are back in each others lives and Liv’s main priority is to make sure Parker doesn’t break her again. As the story progresses we see from both Parker and Liv what happened four years ago and how something so beautiful between these two went so wrong. These two were meant for one another and now they are so far from being together it’s not funny. Everyone around them can see they belong to each other, but circumstances are keeping them apart, as well as broken heart, and stubbornness.
I loved how strong Liv is in this book. She isn’t a push over, and she tries so hard to get over the pain and heartbreak from her past. She is a firecracker and she tries to make the best of the situations she’s in, even though it’s extremely hard. Watching her befriend Staci and Brandon was awesome, and seeing her try as hard as she did to put the past behind them and work on being civil with Parker was a testament on how much she has grown.
Parker on the other hand is your typical man. He knows what he wants, yet he’s scared. He made some mistakes, and instead of owning up to them, or talking things out, he’s doing the “safe” thing. He let’s people assume things, and doesn’t correct them, and in the end things get worse before they get better. No matter what he does though, he can’t get over Liv and that ends up being a problem for him. Watching him fight his attraction and his love for her is heart-breaking at times and my heart hurt for him, but it really was his own fault, so I didn’t feel that bad for him most of the time.
These two really went back and forth and circled each other most of this book, so if you love angst and drama, this book is totally for you. I wanted them together, yet at the same time I didn’t because I was scared of what was going to happen if they finally gave in. Parker and Liv are a force to be reckoned with and I feel bad for anyone and everyone who tries to stand between them, even when they aren’t together. They are on fire together and even when they “hate” each other the chemistry between these two is undeniable.
I fell in love with the writing in this book and with the characters. Not only did I love Parker and Liv, but Staci, Brandon and even Mason (though we didn’t get to see much of him). This book was beautifully written and had a story that sucked me in from beginning to end. Where Good Girls Go To Die was an unexpected read that I one-clicked on a whim, and am so happy I decided to read! If you’re in the mood for an angsty second chance romance with a few twists, I highly recommend this book! It is definitely one of my top reads of 2017!
