I Loved It!
The ending of an amazing series, has the perfect name for the last book, Beautiful is exactly as the title says, it’s a beautifully written ending to one of my favorite series!
In Beautiful, we finally get Jensen’s story, as well as catch up with most of the crew from previous books in the series. This book begins with Pippa, Ruby’s best friend, finding her boyfriend cheating on her, and her mum’s sending her on a holiday. She’s a nervous wreck getting on the plane, and tries to make small talk with the sexy guy sitting next to her. One thing leads to another and Pippa makes a drunken fool out of herself, spilling life secrets, and as a reader it is HILARIOUS, but Jensen (sexy seat mate) is a little annoyed by it all.
These two never thing they’ll see one another again, but as luck would have it, they are hanging with the same group of crazy friends and about to embark on a 2 week vacation together. Between Hanna and Will, Ruby and Naill, that leaves Jensen and Pippa as the fifth and sixth wheel, and something is bound to happen between these two.
Where Pippa is outgoing, fun, and spontaneous, Jensen is a work-a-holic, and lives by a schedule. He never really strays from his routine, much to the dismay of his friends and his sister Hanna. Watching these two trying to fight their attraction to one another, and continuing to say things were just casual, and just a fling was funny, because anyone could see what these two had was so much more, but getting them to realize it is a different story. Things go from friendly, to light, fun, and sexy between them, and I loved watching Jensen come out of his shell, and watching Pippa embrace life in a way that only she knows how to.
I loved reading Jensen and Pippa’s story, even though at times I wanted to wring both of their necks for being so naive and stupid, but it was a perfect love story. Jensen balances Pippa out and Pippa does the same for Jensen, it just took them too long for my liking to figure out that they were meant for each other! Throw in getting to see more of Will, Hanna, Ruby, and Naill, and this book was perfection. Especially when Will would read out Max and Bennett’s group text messages about Sara and Chloe. I was laughing out loud at some of those messages and how the group reacted!
The extended epilogues in this book is what really did me in, we got to say goodbye one final time to Max, Bennett, George, Chloe, Sara, Hanna, Will, Ruby, Naill, Jensen and Pippa. Each of their endings was perfect, and I love how close this group of friends is and how they expanded throughout the books.
I must say, I teared up a little at the end of this book, I knew it was the end, but seeing how everything played out for some of my favorite characters was bitter sweet. I didn’t want to say goodbye, but the way this series ended was perfection!
I have received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review.
