I Kind of Loved It!
If you’re a lover of friends to lovers romance, then Breakaway is a book you must grab today!
Allie and Colt have been best-friends since they were little, but as they grow older, feelings start to change, and everything gets difficult. Allie falls harder and harder for Colt, but she realizes that Colt only wants her as his best-friend, so she lets her heart get broken and accepts what she is to him, though holding out hope, and works on moving forward. When everything changes for Allie and she runs to Colt to help, their dynamic changes yet again.
I loved the dynamic between Colt and Allie and how both of them felt the same, yet neither of them seemed to realize it. If only one of them would have stood up and said something, so much heartbreak could have been saved for both of them, but in reality I think they needed to go through what they did, or their relationship wouldn’t be what it was. Both of them did some pretty stupid things, and it was a long, long road for them to get to where they are now, but the story of them finding where they belong in one another’s lives was beautifully written, and angsty nonetheless.
Watching Colt and Allie struggle with their feelings, trying to figure things out after heartbreak, and their new lives was funny at times, heartbreaking at others, and down right hair pulling the rest. I wanted to grab both of these characters and scream at them, and then pull them in and give them a hug because of the struggle they were feeling internally. Both of them knew what they wanted, but how they went about it was so, so wrong at times. I did love Colt once he pulled his head out of his butt and started doing things the right way. The way he treated Allie was amazing and beautiful, and the ending.. OMG!
I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say, this book pulled me in and I read it in one sitting. I adored the way these two characters interacted with one another, the secondary characters, and everything about this story. If you love a good friends to lovers romance, then you need to pick up Breakaway by Heather M. Orgeron today! This is a definite must read!
