I Kind of Liked It!
DRIVE by Jacob Chance is a fun and light read where the good girl falls for the younger fun loving guy.
Carter thought she had everything planned out till her fiance ended up sleeping with her best friend and knocking her up. Now she’s back home trying to put together her life, and the last thing she needs is another relationship. She needs to figure her life out, but on the night of her sisters engagement party she ends up kissing a stranger, and months later she’s really good friends with him. Nick on the other hand, from the moment he laid eyes on Carter couldn’t get her out of his head. He is doing everything he can to make her his, and break down her walls.
I really enjoyed the first part of this book where Nick was doing everything in his power to get Carter to give him a chance and become friends with her. Slowly these two became friends and she opened up to him. Watching Carter come out of her shell and find herself again was awesome, and watching Nick help her and find ways to be around her was hilarious and sweet at the same time. The second part of this book though, at times seemed to rushed and a bit over done. I wanted more build up and depth into the story, but at times it felt a bit thrown together and rushed. I really enjoyed these two characters together, and after everything that they went through to finally give being in a relationship a shot, the actual relationship seemed so rushed and then the book seemed to be over. I would have loved to have seen more of their struggles of working through things, and Nick dealing with his decision to not play football, and what he decided to do after he graduated from college.
Overall though, this was a really enjoyable book. It was light, fun, and a quick read. This was the first book of Jacob Chance’s I’ve read and I will definitely be on the look out for more. I did enjoy Nick and Carter’s story and the humor that DRIVE had in it. This was a sweet and sexy read and Nick and Carter’s characters were likeable and their story was definitely enjoyable.
