I Kind of Loved It!
Dark and Beautiful Nights picks up a little after Cruel Temptation ends and Kayci is in a dark place and her friends are doing everything they can to pull her out of it.
So much happens in this book that I really can’t write about without spoiling it for you, but I will say it had me on the edge of my seat. I loved how Betty Shreffler handled the situation with Adrian, Kayci and Cass, even if it broke my heart over and over again (I loved both Cass and Adrian), and how Kayci truly came into herself in this book. We saw her grow so much throughout the series, but in this book we really saw her struggle on her own and grow into herself and become stronger and start to truly rely on others and embrace her powers and the love of others around her. We saw her fall apart, and build herself back up, and we saw her go through things no one should have to go through, and embrace them and come out even stronger.
This book was beautifully written, and I loved the fast pace, twists and turns, and all of the plot twists. There was so much going on and I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of it! The only thing I wasn’t fond of is that it definitely ended too quickly and I felt as if there is so much more for these characters but I do not see any other books in this series.. I wish one day we will get to see more for them, as I know there are still struggles for The Covenant and too many enemies still after Kayci that haven’t been dealt with yet. I devoured this series and I highly recommend The Covenant Series to anyone who is a lover of paranormal romance, and doesn’t mind a love triangle.
