I Liked It!
The second installment of the Folstad Prophecies by Rebecca Brooke was worth the wait!
Elemental Runes is Jocelyn’s (Kara’s best friend) story and it is angsty, and full of drama. Jocelyn was sent to earth when she was twelve with her family to help protect Kara and when Kara was ready teach her. Now that Kara knows who she is and has mastered some of her powers and has found her elske Jocelyn is feeling a bit homesick and as a third wheel. She feels as if she is never going to find her elske on Earth, but is happy for her best friend and Larson. She never expected Gunnar, the man sent to help teach Kara the Water element to be her elske, or how big of connection these two would share.
Seeing Jocelyn and Gunnar’s connection at first was hilarious. Her reaction to him was funny and seeing Kara trying to reign her in made me laugh out loud. Everything Jocelyn had ever wanted is right there in front of her, yet when she finally gets what she wanted she freaks out. Watching these two navigate around each other is frustrating at first, but seeing how much they come to care about each other is beautiful. Once they finally get over everything, seeing how powerful they are together is frightening yet amazing all at the same time.
These two have so much to overcome, and not only do they have to worry about Kara, the Rebels, and everything else, but how their powers and how strong their bond is. There is so much to overcome for these two and the way Rebecca Brooke weaves their story is absolutely beautiful. I was unable to put this book down. I just wish we would have had more of them before this book ended. I can’t wait for more in this series as the world that this author has created is so intricate and amazing that you can’t help but become emotionally attached to each and every one of these characters.
If you’re a lover of paranormal romance or on the fence, I highly suggest picking up the Folstad Prophecies today. This is a series that will have you hooked! Trust me on this!
