A sweet and sexy friends to lovers romance!
Wasted Words is a beautifully written love story about of two friends who are complete opposites in life, but find a way after years of friendship to make things work with them. Cam is a sweet book nerd, who helps run Wasted Words with Rose and team. She has a knack for matching people up, but is never really looking for love herself. She has the hots for her best friend Tyler, but knows that they are on completely different shelves, so she keeps him as her friend and doesn’t let the thoughts of how sexy he looks consume her mind. Tyler has had a perfect life until his football career was cut short, followed by bad relationship after bad relationship, which ends him up on Cam’s door as her new roommate.
These two have chemistry, you can tell this immediately upon meeting them, but getting them to realize that there was more than the friendship they had was frustrating at times. Once Tyler realizes what he wanted, he went after it, but Cam was so wishy-washy that it annoyed me at times. Tyler has proven over and over again how much he cares about her, but she is always waiting for the other shoe to drop and for her to be left by herself.
To say this relationship between these two is easy would be a lie. It’s hard, it’s frustrating, but in the end, it’s perfect. They balance one another out, and even though Cam would annoy me at times, I adored her character. She was funny, sweet, caring, and she was just trying to protect herself. Tyler is the perfect book boyfriend, and he cares so deeply for Cam it will make anyone swoon!
I am a fan of Staci Hart’s so I immediately one-clicked this one as soon as I could, and I am so glad I did. Wasted Words was a book that was perfect to get me out of a reading slump. The ending was amazing and I really want more of Cam and Tyler, but how things ended, was perfect for them!
