I Liked It!
Last Chance is a unique love story that had me falling in love and left me a sobbing mess!
Mackenzie has a bucket list that she’s working on, and the one thing she wants is her best friends brother, Connor, and she has a unique way of getting his attention. But once she gets his attention, she never expected things to work out the way they did. Mackenzie has always had a crush on Connor, and has probably been in love with him since she was thirteen years old, but he never saw her as more than his little sisters best friend. Everything changes when he realizes that she was the girl he hooked up with and he can’t get her out of his mind.
Watching Mackenzie and Connor embark on such a beautiful relationship was amazing, yet heartbreaking at the same time. Mackenzie has a secret and Connor doesn’t know what it is during the beginning part of their relationship, but once he finds out, everything changes. I hated how everything finally started to seem to go right in Mackenzie‘s world and then was ripped out from under her again. Connor and her are perfect for one another, and what happens to them is definitely not fair. They definitely had their happiness, and experienced a love that very few of us ever get to experience, but at the same time, it was cut short, and I so wish things could have ended differently for them.
Watching Connor doing everything he could to change the situation for them, and seeing him go from someone who was married to work, to him being so about Mackenzie it wasn’t funny was amazing to watch. I guess when you know, you know, and Connor definitely knew when Mackenzie reappeared in his life. I adored his character and the strength he showed in this book. I also loved Mackenzie‘s character, even though I didn’t always agree with the choices she made throughout this book.
Last Chance is a beautifully written love story, that had me falling in love with Connor and Mackenzie, and had me laughing and left me crying at the end. I couldn’t put this book down, and I was hoping things could have ended differently for these two, but at the same way, I think how it ended was also perfect in it’s own right. If you don’t mind an ugly cry, and love a friends to lovers romance, then I highly suggest one-clicking Last Chance by Lauren Runow today, this book will definitely have you hooked from beginning to end!
