After reading the synopsis of this book, and reading Kizzy’s review, I knew I needed to get this book and see what all the buzz was about! First off, I want to say that I loved the story of Change of Hart, it was unique and definitely kept me intrigued through the whole story.
This story is definitely an interesting one, it’s told in the male’s point of view, and seeing everything as it played out from his vantage point was something you definitely do not see a lot. I loved Jason’s relationship with Jaxon, and how that little kid seemed to make some of the hardest moments and times in the book, seem so simple. Then there was Addison and Jason’s relationship, which definitely had some bumps and bruises along the way. When we got to find out more about Addison, my heart broke for the things she had been through, and how much she loved her child.
Reading in Jason’s POV definitely was interesting, but, sometimes it was really hard to like his character. At first he came off very full of himself, but there were times that you would see a glimpse into someone who wanted to be better than that. His character definitely intrigued me, and as I continued to read, I definitely started to like him. The one thing I didn’t really get, was how it seemed that him and his friend Lindsey went forever without talking to each other, to being immediate best friends again. That’s how I took it when reading, but maybe I missed something. Lindsey definitely helped Jason make sense of things early in the book, and I’m not sure how the story would have gone without her part.
I did enjoy Jason and Addison’s relationship and how it didn’t go from just met, to unconditionally in love. She definitely had reservations about getting involved with Jason, and their relationship took a while to get going, but they got to know more about one another, and that was great to see. Addison’s character seemed to get stronger as the book went on, until one hiccup, when you see her fall apart. Both Jason and Addison should have communicated a lot better that night, things may not have ended up as they did.
The characters in this book are awesome and each one of them brings a unique persona to the book. Deuce, Jaxon, Lindsey, Mick, Sara, Adam, all of the support characters are ones that you will enjoy reading, and each of them brings something different to the table. You will definitely be laughing at Deuce and his antics, he had me cracking up a few times.
This story is about love, moving forward, and finding that one person you are meant to be with. I really enjoyed this story, especially since I was looking for something without a cliff hanger, or part of a series. Yes, you heard that right.. this is a STAND ALONE romance novel that will definitely capture you!
