I Liked It!
If you’re looking for a book that will have you laughing out loud and falling in love, then you need to pick up Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart today. I truly enjoyed the enemies to lovers plot of this book, and the back and forth banter between the characters, and all of the verbal foreplay that went on in this book. I couldn’t stop laughing throughout this book!
Jamie is a down on her luck mechanic, and ends up applying for a job at her families old shop. When she first meets Dex she and him get along like oil and water. He doesn’t believe woman can hack it in the shop, and she is all for proving him wrong. When they make a deal for three weeks of a trial basis, everything goes downhill between the two of them These two push each others buttons like no other and their arguments over every single thing are quite hilarious. Jamie has her mind set to prove her wrong, and Dex slowly starts to see she’s amazing at what she does, but refuses to let her know it, as he doesn’t want her to win.
Throw in some absolutely hilarious and meddling family members and friends, and these two have no chance of getting away from one another. From Greta, Roxy, and Charley they all give these characters the guilt trips, and throw them together over and over again. I adored watching Jamie and Dex outside of the shop, and how they seemed to truly get along, but as soon as they would step back into work, all bets were off again. Watching them bicker back and forth held so much angst that you knew when they finally gave in, it was going to be HOT and trust me it was.
Miss Mechanic was a light and funny read full of angst and laughs. It is the perfect read if you’re looking for something to get lost in and to just forget the world around you for awhile. Emma Hart has a way of writing a story that makes you fall in love with the characters and want to love and hate them all at the same time. There were times in this book that I truly wanted to strangle both of them, but everything worked out in the end! I highly suggest picking up Miss Mechanic today, it’s on you will fall in love with, trust me!
