I’ve been waiting for the conclusion of Sam and Liz’s story for what feels like forever, and Something Real did NOT disappoint!
Something Real picks up 5 months after the fateful Christmas night that changed everything for Sam and Liz. The two of them no longer speak, but are definitely still in love with one another.
My heart aches for the two of them and how they can’t just ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. Not with what has happened in the past, and definitely not in light of the new things that have come out. When the two of them are pushed back together for the political campaign that Liz is working on, nothing seems to go right.
The chemistry between these two is still hot as ever, but with everything going on, it’s hard to act on it. At times I wanted to slap Sam for not being upfront and telling Liz everything, but at the same time, Liz is a smart girl and figured it out. Once they finally are able to sneak away and be together, it’s as hot as ever between the two of them, but Liz may be who Sam loves, it’s not her that’s on TV camera’s with him, it’s not her that he’s engaged to.
I have been rooting for these two for so long, and was really hoping this would just about them finding one another and then them being together with no issues between them. This is definitely not the case, we have a ton of other issues these two need to work through before they can get their HEA.
I knew I didn’t like Connor, and he definitely proved why in this book. And Sabrina? OMG there are no words for how much I dislike her character, but she definitely got what was coming to her in the end. It was nice to see Sam make some sort of peace with his father as well, and for Della and Liz to possibly reconcile. But the best thing other than Sam and Liz in this book? The girls and how supportive of Liz they are. I think everyone wishes they had the friends and siblings that Liz has. They are there for her when she needs them, and there when she doesn’t even realize she needs them. They are a great support system for her, and I loved being able to see bits and pieces of all of the previous characters lives.
The ending of this book was amazing, I just wish we would have gotten more, and am hoping to see more of Liz and Sam and how everything works out after the epilogue in Nix’s story. Did NOT see who Nix hooked up with coming, but am excited to see what Lexi Ryan has in store for us with her book!
The characters of New Hope and all of the books/series they are in are wonderful. They all have their own stories, they are hot, and the chemistry between the significant others is always HOT! Lexi Ryan’s characters and books from New Hope are amazing and I highly recommend them!
