I Loved It

Wow, what can I say? Familiar Ground by Michelle Lynn was absolutely amazing! The way this story is told, the flow of this book, the characters, the hardships, everything about this book is simply amazing!
Familiar Ground is a stand alone book, so you get the entire story now instead of waiting to see what happens! We meet Leah and Adam who are brought together due to some unfortunate circumstances and their lives are thrown upside down in the matter of a few days. Enter Dani, the niece neither one of them knew existed, who I may add is the most adorable child ever in a book!
Leah and Adam are attracted to each other, you can tell that immediatley, but don’t want to act on their feelings, because a. Leah has a douchebag boyfriend, and b. if things go sour, that would put Dani as the loser in their game of love. Finally their hearts over power what their heads are telling them, and you are taken on a remarkable ride with their new found love.
I loved how Leah and Adam’s characters were the main characters of this story, but how we also got to see Adam’s parents, Shane (Leah’s brother) and most importantly Dani. I loved how these two did everything they could to make sure Shane got the help he needed (even if they were weary at times) and how they always had Dani’s best interests at heart.
Just when everything is going perfect, something happens that makes your heart sink, and you are worried about their relationship, can they survive what happens? You’ll have to read this one to find out!
Dani, Leah, and Adam make an amazing trio, and I loved each of these characters, after awhile I even started to like Shane! Their story is about forgiveness, living with an addiction, and learning to forgive and forget, oh and to follow your heart, especially if it’s leading you to an amazing specimen named Adam!
This book is a perfect book if you’re looking for a stand alone. Michelle Lynn writes amazing stories, where you get both POV’s and has the angst, love, and struggle of love written into a beautiful story. I highly recommend Familiar Ground, it’s one of the best Stand Alone books I’ve read this year!

Beau Diesel…He was my “one”. My one that I would sacrifice everything for. My one that I wanted to be with until I took my final breath. My one that completed me.
I wanted him. I needed him. But he was off limits. I knew this, but the risk of consequences didn’t outweigh the depth of my desire.
So, I fought for our love.
But, I wasn’t Beau’s “one”.
So, he fought against our love.
He fought so hard, eventually I had to give up. I had to admit defeat.
But, that’s the thing about love – when you’re down and out, true love wins. It prevails…and it raises you up.
**This is a stand alone novel, with a happy ever after**

I was lost in thought when my phone started to vibrate. You could hear the loud vibrations as it rattled in my hand. “Crap,” I nearly jumped out of my skin. It was a text from Moon. I don’t know if I opened it because it was just habit, or if it was because I wanted to see what he had to say. Either way, I may regret the decision.
Moon-Do you remember that day we met as kids? I have been thinking about it all day. That was the day that I met my best friend. Tell me you are still my best friend. I miss you and I don’t understand what I did. I lost my dad and my best girl all in one day. I am such a damn mess, Shine! I need you and I know that you need me. Please! If I were there I would kiss you like I always do and tell you it will be okay!
I read the message twice before another one followed quickly behind it.
Moon- I gotta go help momma now, but I am not giving up on you. Know that when I look at the stars tonight I will think of you. You have to come back to me Shine. I need you.
The tears flowed freely from my eyes. I swear, that damn boy. Geez, I love him so much that it hurts.

Wow, where to start with this one? This is one hot ass read! It starts off with a hot one night stand, and doesn’t stop! Kat is hiding something, and we have no clue what, and Lane (Wild) is freaking hot, hot, hot, but also kind of an asshole (but the loveable kind).
The relationship (or non relationship) between these two is amazing, their chemistry, is freaking steamy, and Adriane Leigh has you all hot and bothered a few times during this book! Can two people who want nothing to do with a relationship, but are severely attracted to each other ever work? Reading this book you’ll see yes, no, and well.. maybe?
Both of these characters have some stuff in their past they do not want to go into, but each day, each encounter, they show a little more of each other their past. I mean, trust me, when you find out what Kat’s hiding and why, it isn’t at all what you imagined (or at least I didn’t) but WOW!
Lane is your typical player, comes off as a douche, but when you get to know him, you see a sweet, kind side (even if he’s kinky) and you want him to have something good in his life. Kat is hilarious, and very outspoken, and together these two make fire on the pages (or screen) of your kindle!
I struggled with this one as to if I should give it a 4 or 5 stars, because I really, really enjoyed the story, but felt as if the ending was a little rushed. I was left hanging for more, or a little more explanation of what happened to get them to where they ended up, after all was said and done. I definitely recommend reading this book, it really was a great read, with a ton of hot sex scenes, and you will totally fall in love with Lane. Make sure to add this one to your TBR list! I can’t wait for Ridge, the next book!!!

I was given an ARC of this book and here’s my review 🙂
This was a cute YA read. We meet Zar and she is 18 about to start her senior year in HS. She has issues and has panic attacks. I know i kept on wondering what the hell happened to her?
Zar had a brief encounter with LC at the pizza shop and for the first time she felt calm around him. I was interested in learning more about him too. Come to find out his sister is marrying Zar’s brother Zeke and they cross paths again at his house and from there the relationship develops. He was there for her and was such a sweetheart <3
Once we find out, I though oh, this makes so much sense now. I felt so bad for her but glad that she finally opened up to her family and LC. I would have loved more of a relationship with her and Zoe her younger sister. The Epilogue was cute , wish there was a little more though but it was sweet 🙂
Hopefully Zar and LC can get a novella to see how they are (hint hint) 🙂
Looking to more books from this author 🙂
