I Liked It!
I am a lover of the Tracers Series by Laura Griffin, and Touch of Red is a perfect addition to this series!
From the first chapter, this book grabs you in the most horrific way and doesn’t let you got. A horrendous murder brings Brooke and Sean together. A woman is slain on her porch after coming home from work and there is barely any evidence and no leads to go on. With a hot detective who wants to solve this case, and get the girl and a smart and sexy fingerprint analyst from the Delphi Center trying to solve the case, things definitely get interesting.
I loved how involved Brooke got in the case, and how she seemed to be one step ahead of everyone in the investigation, and even if she put herself in danger without realizing it, she truly put herself into the investigation and gave herself fully to it, even if she wasn’t ready to fully give herself to Sean. Watching Sean and Brooke dance around each other while trying to solve this crime was angsty to say the least. Sean knew what he wanted, but since Brooke was swearing off men due to her past relationship, she was on edge and not ready to move forward with any man, even if she’s attracted to Sean. I loved how their relationship progressed throughout this book, but like all of the books in this series, the romance isn’t the main part of the book, but just an afterthought, but in this book, it was really, really good!
The suspense, the crime in this book, that part of this book, it was amazing, gruesome, and just so, so awful. As more and more pieces started to come together, and more clues came out, I became more engrossed into the story. I hated how the deaths occurred, but all of the clues that came out, and the evidenced started to piece together was amazing. As we started to get more information I couldn’t figure out who was the killer, and then when it was revealed, I was repulsed by the motive, and who did it. I love how Laura Griffin keeps you on edge throughout the entire book always guessing who did it and why, and how everything is going to turn out.
Touch of Red had me on edge from beginning to end, I loved the suspense, the angst, and everything about this book. The way this book grabbed me from the very first chapter and didn’t let me go till I reached the end. I couldn’t put this book down, and I loved all the twists we were taken on throughout this book. Since I’ve read previous books in this series, I loved all of the appearances of previous characters in the Delphi Center and seeing how they were doing as well. I can’t wait to see more books in this series, as I love Laura Griffin’s writing and The Tracer Series is absolutely amazing! If you’re a lover of romantic suspense, you must pick up this book today, it’s one that you won’t regret reading!
I have received this book as a member of the XOXperts, XOXO After Dark’s official street team, in exchange for an honest review.
